For my first diary entry to my ultimate year of glowing up, I wanted to focus on smelling absolutely divine and yummy. No matter how you look or dress, smelling and feeling delicious and clean will give you all the confidence in the world. I love warm cozy scents myself and enjoy having a signature scent that makes me memorable so I put together a guide that will help you set up your own scent stack to create your own signature scent.
- Naturium The Energizer Cooling Body Wash
Smelling divine starts with a clean slate. I like to grab my african net sponge every day and scrub down my entire body with this mandelic acid body wash. It helps sterilize your skin and lowers it’s pH which creates an environment where odor causing bacteria struggle to grow. Lume Acidified Body Wash has great reviews, which if interested I’d be glad to try and give my own review but I haven’t been steered wrong with Naturium. I also have their Naturium The Perfector Salicylic Acid Skin Smoothing Body Wash that I use when I want to get insanely soft skin.
- OLAY – Shea and Manuka Honey Body Wash
After either my daily scrub with my mandelic acid body wash or my weekly exfoliating sugar scrub, I like to come in with a moisturizing body wash with a nice warm base scent. This Olay Shea and Manuka Honey Body Wash smells so good! It’s soft and subtle and the shea keeps your skin leaving nice and soft. My tip is to go through and smell the different moisturizing body soaps to help determine your base scent profile, if you want something a little cleaner, I’d go with a baby powder scent like Ivory Mild & Gentle Body Wash – Original Scent or Soap & Glory Magnifi-Coco Refreshing Coconut Body Wash for a beachy summer vibe.
- DIY Vitamin E Sugar Scrub
Once a week I’ll grab a handful of sugar and scrub my body down. I couldn’t stand spending $8 for Tree Hut Sugar Scrub when I knew I could just grab my own bag of sugar and make it myself. I buy Vitamin E oil from Dollar Tree for $1.25 and add it to the jar of sugar and bam, I’ve got a sugar scrub. Sugar scrubs are great for exfoliating your skin, which remove dead skin cells and makes your skin feel super smooth. This is especially important for hair removal days as it creates a clean surface to work with.

- Malibu Hemp – Golden Glow
This Golden Glow Lotion is my favorite thing to put on before going to bed, it has a coconut scent that helps me drift off to sleep thinking about a beach somewhere. I like that it has hemp which is super moisturizing which helps keep your skin looking young and fresh and it has a tint that helps you wake up looking a little more tan and golden which gives me and instant confidence boost. Naturium Mini The Glow Getter Body Butter is another great product that will help get you glowing if you don’t want the self tanning but do want the glow.
- Jergens – Warm Amber
This lotion smells sooo good! Trust me when I say it’s a perfect balance of the warm amber, subtle peach and clean scent of the soft powder. The shea butter is a great way to lock in the moisturizing benefits of the vitamin e body oil. I like to put my lotion on last for one final “wet” layer before I set it all with dusting powder. This combination in this order has me waking up smelling divine and delicious, which always comes in handy. This is where you can really play with what you’re looking for in a scent or a healing lotion. I really love Flamingo Daily Moisturizing Lotion for a nice clean light scent that leaves your skin feeling so soft with Squalane.
- Orchid – Vitamin E Body Oil
I get this at the Dollar Tree, but you can find this at any price point that you’re comfortable paying. I stock up on it and use it in my sugar scrubs as well as just lather this on as soon as I get out of the shower. I want to give my skin as much moisture as possible and vitamin e is great to protect your cells from damage and minimizes scarring. Waking up with soft, healthy, moisturized skin keeps you confident and on the way to glowing up.

- Natural Sense – Cornstarch Shower Powder
Another Dollar Store find that I stock up on, Cornstarch powder is super absorbent so it helps keep your skin dry and lock in all your scents and oils you stacked, especially where skin rubs together and creates sweat. It’s very gentler and natural and I prefer it over talc-based powders like baby powder. Happy Curves Dusting Body Powder in Tahitian Vanilla is another one you can add in for more scent stacking.
- Mix:Bar Honey Milk
When I tell you, the second I smelled this spray in the store, I fell in love. It’s so good! For examples of perfumes that I love, anything from YSL, but mainly Black Opium and Libre and Burberry Goddess as well as this divine perfume that I found in Athens called Honey and Argan Oil by Blue Scents. It’s a goal of mine to get back to Greece just to stock up on ALL of their fragrances, I fell in love and made the mistake of thinking I could buy them online when I got home. I can’t. I found this adorable little bow container at Burlington Coat Factory, but I did I think it would be so chic to find a little vintage bowl with a lid and use that with a big dusting puff!
I promise you, with all these steps combined, you will be getting compliments all day about how good you smell. How you smell isn’t just about attracting others, it’s deeply tied to your own sense of well-being and self-care. When you step out of the shower, moisturize, and then layer on a scent you love, you’re putting on an invisible armor of confidence. That little ritual sends a signal to your brain that says “I’m worth taking care of, and I’m ready to take on the day feeling amazing.”
There’s something incredibly empowering about knowing you smell fantastic. It adds a whole new dimension to feeling “hotter” – not in a superficial way, but in a deeply personal, self-assured way. It’s like a secret weapon that boosts your inner glow. When you feel good, you carry yourself differently, you stand a little taller, you make jeye contact more easily, and that energy radiates outwards. Its not about covering up, but enhancing what’s already wonderful about you, making you feel more polished and put together, which naturally translates into a stronger sense of self-worth.
Ultimately finding a scent that resonates with you is a personal journey, I’ve shared the scents and products that I like to use, but I recommend doing your research and smell around. Create an experience for yourself that makes you feel good from the inside out, that feeling of being fresh, clean and beautifully scented isn’t just for special occasions, it’s for every single day. Embrace it as part of your journey to recognizing your own value and letting your confidence shine through.
